My Little Architect

The girls got some large Lego blocks as a birthday gift last year and recently they have started building some pretty big towers. Camryn tends to get bored after a few minutes, but Kristin really gets into the building process. She contemplates where to put the next block and gets rather peeved if Camryn takes any of her blocks.

Bath Time Beauties

Our bedtime routine used to consist of dinner, bath, get dressed in jammies, cuddle/read a book, then off to bed. Well now the girls are becoming quite the little night owls. After their nightly bath, they love to run around and play - naked of course. It doesn't last too long because I get a little antsy when they squat, so we drag them off to their room to get a diaper and jammies.

Now my hair has some "umph"

This was also the first time that we have LOST a paci. I was holding Kristin upside down to make her laugh (instead of scream because I was taking her away from play time) and I heard the paci fall to the ground. Except it was NO WHERE to be found! This is not a good thing. We do not have backup pacis. I looked and looked - in the closet (maybe it bounced under the door), behind the curtains (maybe I was going crazy and I didn't really hear it fall in the hallway). After about 10 minutes of fruitless searching, I went for the old pacis - the ones that are retired to baby doll use only. I brought in about 4 different pacis and Kristin finally kind of decided on one that MIGHT work. She wasn't totally sold on the idea though. So I made one final sweep of the area where I thought she dropped it, and lo and behold there it was! Thank goodness...crisis averted.

Not us! Step out of the way mom and dad, we can push each other (with only minor difficulty).

Their bestest buddy, Callie, brought over her super cool trike and in true child-like fashion, the girls stole it rather quickly for their own personal use. And yes, I realize that the girls do not have pants on. It was just after dinner time and we were about to get in the bath, when there was a Callie sighting out the window. So we had to diverge from our original plan.

Hook Em

Olives! The girls love black olives so much. They usually place them on their pointer fingers, then eat them quickly. Well on this day Camryn decided that her pinky finger needed some olive lovin' too.

Now two olives in the mouth at the same time...There is plenty of room to chew, right?

New Treat

Sour Patch Kids! Kristin (on the left) pops these sour things like they are nothing. Camryn prefers to lick all the sour powder off (check our her crazy tongue), then eat the leftover gummy "kid" in several bites. My, my, my...some things are so different. They also show off their mad signing skills - they sign "more" several times. You can even see toddler twins sharing! Camryn doesn't want to share at first, but she eventually gives in.

Feeding Babies

The other day the girls wanted their snack traps (greatest invention ever, by the way), so I dug them out of the diaper bag and handed them out. I was in the process of refilling the snacks in the diaper bag, when I turned around to catch this:

Camryn sat down on the kitchen floor and pulled her baby stroller right over her legs...

She then proceeded to feed her baby doll goldfish from her snack trap.
Kristin couldn't be left out, so she started feeding her baby pretzel sticks

Here we are...just feeding our babies.

Now that the babies have had their solid foods, they need a bottle (Camryn)

And don't forget a bottle for Kristin too!

1st Time For Everything

Yesterday was a big first for the girls. They played in the sprinkler for the very first time! Playing in the water is a must in Texas. They are big enough now to run around, and really enjoy the water. Mostly they just wanted to drink the water and slap it. I took a few pictures (about 250), so I thought I could share some of them.
