Food for Birds

We have quite a few birds stop by our house each day to get a snack so to "kill two birds with one stone" the girls turned toilet paper rolls into bird feeders.

Step 1: Spread peanut butter onto the toilet paper roll. (I took care of this part)

Step 2: Sprinkle bird seed onto the peanut butter. Bird seed can also be poured onto a plate and the cardboard tube can be rolled on the seed.





Step 3: Place in a tree.



Step 4: Wait for the birds to enjoy it.

Cheese!

Lately the girls will set-up photo ops for me even when I don't have the camera. They pose their babies, or even just themselves, and say "Cheese!" until I get the camera and take a picture.

Milestone for Kristin

The girls both love to sit on their little potties, but they have never really "put" anything in them. Well tonight, Kristin told me as she was getting out of the bath that she wanted to pee-pee on the potty. I've heard that a few times before, so I didn't get very excited. I got the potties out and the girls both sat on them while I laid out their pjs, then Kristin stood up, shut her potty and said she pee-pee'd. I thought, yeah right, but let me see just in case. And sure enough...she had peed in the potty! Lots of high fives were exchanged and a BIG hug. Yay Kristin!

I felt bad for Camryn (who I thought for sure would be the first to go in the potty), she looked so left out. She sat on the potty for a while longer and kept standing up to look in the potty to see if there was anything in there. Poor baby. Soon enough she will get high fives too.

Little Helpers

Babies want to help too. I really need to rig up these tiny vacuums with a real motor. Or just get a matching set of stick vacuums.

Little Drummer Girls

Walt set up a make-shift drum set for the girls...and the LOVED it. Until they got whacked on the head.

It was bound to happen...

It was bound to happen at some point...and it was TOTALLY my fault that it did happen. I left a container of Vaseline right next the the girls' bed. I'm sure you can fill in what happened next, but just for fun I'll detail it for you.

When the girls' woke up in the morning, they found the Vaseline and being the loving and compassionate children that they are - they just wanted to help out their stuffed animals (who must have whispered that they had chapped lips). We use the Vaseline on their lips at night time, so they used it on their stuffed animals' "lips". They got large globs and smeared it all over their animals. Then, since their hair was in their face, they ever-so-carefully smoothed it back...and it stayed. What a mess! It took 7 rounds of shampoo (the last one being Orange Cleaner) and some baby powder to help soak up the goo, then they were practically back to normal. The 7 shampoos were spread out over the entire day because it you couldn't tell if their hair was still oily or just wet.

Improvise

I bought the girls some washable paints and immediately wanted to start letting them paint. I wanted to give them something that would contain the mess as much as possible, but still act like paper. Paper plates to the rescue! An extra bonus was that the girls liked the additional texture around the edge of the plate. Bump, bump, bump, bump...

Our daddy loves us soooo much that he paints all 20 of our toes ever so carefully.

Piggyback

Such imaginations! They come up with some of the silliest things when they are playing together. Example - The girls came out of their playroom with their baby dolls on their shoulders all by themselves (Walt helped them adjust the babies so that they were holding their hands instead of their feet). We don't carry them on our shoulders hardly at all, so it makes it even funnier to me that they would do this.

Future Beauty Queens

Walt was cleaning out the attic and found a box labeled "Wedding Stuff" and inside was my long lost tiara! I say "long lost" because I knew it was somewhere, but I just hadn't been able to put a finger on it for the past few years. Well the girls decided that they would like to wear it. Kristin in particular. She even posed and looked over her shoulder. Such a ham. Is this good or bad? I'm just not sure.

Painting

I love these little paint brushes that only paint on the special paper that they came with. But, note to self - you have to be smarter than the paper (you can only paint on one side). It took me 2 pieces of paper and almost throwing all the stuff away because I thought maybe it had expired (I got it on clearance a few months back) before I flipped the paper over. Jeez. What is wrong with me??
On a positive note - the girls loved painting on the paper and showed off their differing techniques.
