Party Prep

While we were at Michael's today, Walt found this awesome masks...perfect for the girls' puppy themed birthday party. I was pretty sure that there was no way the girls would ever put them on, but they will do pretty much anything if Daddy says it is cool. So...whah-lah! Twinsies with puppy masks!

How am I supposed to see out of this thing?

I can't get it off!

There we go...

Ah ha! I see you...(notice the kajillion stickers on her dress...we were stuffing the "doggie bags" with stickers and they had to test out the sticky-ness)

Birthday Pizza

All the E's got together to have a dinner celebrating our future sister-in-law's birthday (and our future sister-in-law!). We got there a little early, so to keep the girls entertained Walt played tag with them. There is nothing so cute as a grown man running around with his two tiny girls. I love watching K and C play games with their daddy! So cute! Oops...I mean...So Manly!

Round and round

Where is Daddy?

Sneaking up...

There you are!

Now I'm going to get you!

The double back...

Oh no! They are coming from both sides!

Run for your life!

End of Summer Bash

The last weekend before school started we went to an end of summer pool party at a fellow teacher's house. The girls loved swimming around in the pool (which we didn't get any pictures of because we were both in the pool with the girls), playing on the big kid toys and lounging around.

Backyard Fun

We have a little kiddie pool in the backyard and anytime that someone mentions "swimming", the girls make a bee-line for the back door because they want to go play in "their" pool.

Check-up Time

Today the girls had their 24-month check-up. My mom works at their pediatrician's office, so they aren't totally scared to death of the building...just the exam rooms. We walked into the waiting room, peeked through my mom's front desk window, went down the hall, but didn't turn into her office area. Instead we continued down the hall to an exam room. That is when all screaming broke loose. They have figured out this small detail (passing the front office area) and immediately started signing "all done" and screaming at the top of their lungs. They had their noggins measured, their length taken, and their weight reported.

Camryn - weight: 23 lbs 8 ozs (15th percentile)
height: 34 inches (55th percentile)
head circumference: 18 3/4 inches (85th percentile)

Kristin - weight: 23 lbs 12 ozs (15th percentile)
height: 34 1/4 inches (60th percentile)
head circumference: 19 inches (85 percentile)

This is the closest they have been in weight since they were born. Until now they have always been almost exactly one pound different, but they seem to be evening out.

When their doctor came in, the screaming continued for a few more minutes, then Walt worked his voodoo magic and they calmed down. It also seemed like they realized the doctor wasn't the bad guy...it is the nurses who jab needles into their legs. They checked out just fine and are developmentally on track. The only thing they are behind on is "using 2-4 word sentences". Just in the past few weeks they have started consistently asking for things by name (juice, cheese, ice, etc) instead of just whining and pointing. Their doctor didn't seemed worried at all because they understand what we say to them, they just aren't talking (in words that we can understand). They can jabber with the best of them though. It is pretty cute to watch the video monitor when they wake up from a nap and chat with each other.

They had to each get one shot, but it wasn't bad at all. They were so happy to see their puppy band-aids that they just stopped crying. Now they don't have to get any more shots until they are 4! Yeah! Unless they get flu shots...

More Corn

I love how enthusiastic they are about corn on the cob. They hold it so carefully (mostly), and take giant bites.

Bounce House Fun

These girls love to jump! On today's excursion Grandma was able to join us! The girls had so much fun sliding, jumping, and tumbling all around. What a great way to kill a few hours.

Who needs clothes??

Camryn has figured out how to take off her clothes...kind of. She likes to stick her arms out the top of her shirts. Silly girl.

Oops...I'm busted!

Look how crazy Camryn is!

It is kind of like a tube top...
I would never be that crazy...look how sweet I am. ~Kristin

P.S. These pictures are kind of old...They are in big girl beds now! Eek!
