Switch-a-roo

At dinner I looked down to find this...a pint sized fork

Then I looked to my right and found this...a bow-headed cutie with MY fork in sweetie little paw

Kristin had jacked my "big girl" fork and had kindly left her "little girl" fork in its place. Karma got her back for me...her hand got all dirty - which led to this lovely expression and sound effect "ewwwwwww".

Yet Another Zoo Trip

We have been going to the zoo every Monday during June because it is member appreciation month. They open an hour early for members, so we have been trying to beat the Texas heat and also get some of the goodies/special things that the zoo has to offer. This week they had a penguin out for everyone to see and we were able to get pretty close (about 3 feet away). Walt got a cute video of the girls flapping their arms like a bird (while I was trying to explain to the girls that the penguins flap their wings to swim, not fly). I'm sure they understood perfectly. I love that they say "bye" to everything right now. "Bye penguin"

All in all, a great trip to the zoo. It seems like each time we go there are different animals that are active and it reminds me that getting the zoo passes was a GREAT idea.

Sunglass Girls

We purchased a single pair of sunglasses from the Target Dollar Spot a while back and just recently the girls have started to become interested in them. They are pretty good at sharing them right now. As long as we have a decent distraction for the other child.

The girls love to throw things away...partly because they can get into the pantry. I made the mistake of not really paying close attention to what they were doing - then I turned around.

Balancing Act

I'm not sure what this might lead to later in life, but Camryn loves to balance things. This started with a few pickle slices and a bowl, then continued to the bathtub animals being balanced on their hind legs.

Flashback to the 80s?

While going through some of my late grandmother's things, I came across some clip-on earrings. In lime green. Camryn thought they would look nice with her outfit. I think she looks a tad too grown up.

Running Wild

Last week we went to the zoo (again) and we let the girls "run free". Not really running, but we let them out of the stroller more than normal. They LOVED it! This did increase our zoo trip from the normal 2 hours to a little over 4 hours. I couldn't believe that the girls made it 2 hours past their normal nap time, but there were so many animals to see that they just didn't care. It was very helpful to have lot of extra hands available too. My mom, my sister and my sister's friend (Amber) accompanied me, Walt and the girls. There was always a free set of hands to push the empty stroller, hold a sippy cup, carry a tired child, etc.

Auntie in Town

My sister came into town at the beginning of this week and hung out with us for several days. We went treasure hunting at IKEA and our grandmother's house, ate at McAlister's Deli, and the best part was going to the zoo!
