Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning, we headed over to Walt's mom's house for Round 1 of family time and opening presents. We have quite a large crew that gets together - 16 people in all. Grandparents, children, spouses, fiance and grandchildren. There was so much loot, it was all around the whole tree. The girls had a great time and kept asking for more presents to open. They received tons of new toys. We have already stashed some away for a rainy day, but they are loving their new digital cameras and talking baby dolls.

White Christmas

It was a Christmas miracle! We actually had snow on Christmas Eve and it lasted until Christmas Day. That doesn't happen often in Texas, but the girls were not super excited like I was. They were more mad that it was sticking on their coats and getting them dirty.

Shirt reads "I Yell at Midnight Too!" They love these shirts because they have babies on them. I caught them the other morning with these shirts out on the floor (they had taken them out of the dresser) and they were covering the babies on the shirts with their blankets.

The Mouse

The mouse named Chuck E. Cheese! We attended a friend's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and I thought for sure that our girls would be scared of the giant mouse, but they were mesmerized! They could hardly look away from the singing, dancing mouse long enough to play some games and eat some pizza. After a little practice, they became experts at putting the coins into the games and tearing off their tickets after the game was done.

First French Braid

Kristin was strapped in to her booster seat and was busy coloring, so I took the moment of stillness to try and braid her hair. And she let me! She even wanted to see the pictures of her pretty braid afterward.

Busted Lip

Camryn got her first fat lip recently and the pictures don't really do it justice, but it was bad! She tripped and fell on the dishwasher door while it was open, then proceeded to bleed all over Walt's shirt and the sink. Walt got the bleeding under control pretty quickly, but her top lip got extremely swollen and the bridge of her nose even bruised the next day. I guess she hit her whole face when she fell. Kristin was such a big helper - she got Cam her baby doll, blanket, etc.

4-Wheeling in the Great Outdoors

The girls got these 4-Wheelers for their birthday, but haven't taken them outside before. Well - they loved taking them outside! The funniest part was when I told them to drive to the door...and keep going. They gave me the craziest look, and then had a giant grin on their face as they bumped over the threshold.

Usually when we go to my parent's house, the girls immediately ask to go see the horses in the back yard, but don't really want to pet them much. They get a little nervous with the big horses and their BIG nostrils sniffing them. Well this trip was a totally different story. Camryn has really started being a "go-getter" and will pretty much try anything you ask her to, while Kristin is a little more reserved (to put it lightly) in new/different situations. We separated the big horses from the miniature horses and as soon as we got into the pasture Camryn wanted down and she took off straight toward the minis. Not a single hesitation. Just walked up and started patting their noses. Huge grin on her face the whole time. Kristin quickly followed suit once she saw it was safe. I love watching them enjoy something that I love so much. They walked all around, patting each horse, stomping through the hay, exploring the barn, carried feed buckets and fed horses. I'm so glad that the girls are becoming less nervous around the horses and I'm thankful that my parents have horses that are calm enough for the girls to be around safely.
