All by Herself...I Swear

So...we are eating dinner...Camryn is smiling sweetly...but wait...what's that on her plate?

Peas and carrots?

Flipped...oh yes...arranged into eyes, nose and mouth of course.

All by herself. Children are amazing. Did I do crazy things like this when I was little? Did Walt? If so, when did we stop doing things like this? Remind me to not suppress their creativity because this is greatness!

Building with Poppi

The other day my dad came over and the girls dragged the bag of blocks over and insisted that he help them build a tower. What is a grandpa to do but comply with the wishes of his grandchildren?

Well Balanced Dinner

The girls were helping me make dinner and had gathered a few necessary ingredients, several of which were cans. I was kind of watching them out of the corner of my eye, but not totally paying attention to what they were actually doing (gimme a break...there weren't any knives around). When I did pay closer attention this is what I found (I'm sure none of you could have guessed that they might build a tower!):
Check out this team work (Camryn left, Kristin right)

Building building

Kristin and Camryn love to build towers. The taller the better. On this particular day, Nana was available to act as a "tower support system". Kristin is on the left, Camryn is in the middle and Nana is on the right.

When they would add another layer, Kristin would clap in excitement

So tall!

Where to put this piece?

Starting over

Not quite as tall

My Little Architect

The girls got some large Lego blocks as a birthday gift last year and recently they have started building some pretty big towers. Camryn tends to get bored after a few minutes, but Kristin really gets into the building process. She contemplates where to put the next block and gets rather peeved if Camryn takes any of her blocks.

This looks like a good spot

Why won't this stay where I want it???

Let me just move this piece of tower...
Me and Camryn watching the great builder

Reeeeeeeach

I'm almost done...

Just one more block...

I'll just bend the tower over a little bit so I can reach

Perfect. (The tower stayed just like that after she put the block on)
