Follow the Leader

Every day we are amazed at the little things our "babies" do. I think I will always call them my babies, but they are already growing up before my eyes. Here is a clip of Kristin, Camryn and Callie holding hands and leading each other around the kitchen. Playing cooperatively together.

Our little bookends, almost always one on each side of Callie (Camryn left, Kristin right)

Who me?

This picture requires a little bit of explanation. We were undressing the girls in preparation for our nighttime routine when Kristin discovered a cheerio in her "belly". Apparently she had inadvertently dropped a cheerio down her onesie, and she couldn't figure out how to get in out. This is her trying to pull it through her shirt.

The Pony Express

Our sweet friend "Tootie" has the most wonderful toy - a bouncing, spinning pony. Camryn has recently gone a little wild riding this tiny horsey. Perhaps it is almost time for a real one...

NICU reunion

On Saturday we made our way back to the girls' old stomping grounds...the NICU. Well not the actual NICU, but back to the hospital for the annual reunion of NICU graduates. Kristin and Camryn only had to stay in the hospital for 26 days, but at the time is seemed like they would never make it out. We had wonderful nurses taking care of both Twin "A" and Twin "B", and we even saw 2 of their nurses at the reunion.

Last year we were able to meet up with our "twin friends". A set of identical twin girls with a very similar set of complications during pregnancy. These twins were the reason that Kristin and Camryn were born in the evening instead of at noon (they kept our doctor busy with an emergency c-section while Walt and I had lunch). We shared a room in the NICU and the girls were even released on the same day. I hope we get to have a playdate soon!

Look how much we have grown!

Peek-a-Boo

The girls now "hide" behind just about any object and peek out, then burst into laughter. It is just about the cutest thing ever.

Bow Heads

So we now have a plethora of bows in the girls' room, and the other day they kept signing "more" and pointing to the bows. So...I gave them what they wanted - more bows. This is the aftermath.

Kristin - "Is this too many?"

Camryn - "What? You don't like it?"

Kristin - Peekaboo!!

Pretty Princess Cam - a million bows AND a crown for good measure

Perfectly Pouty Kristin - "How dare you put a crown on top of all my bows"

Lots of love from the sweet Bow Heads!

Spring Break 2009

We stayed pretty busy all week long and had tons of fun. I can't wait until summer arrives so that EVERY week is spring break.

Monday - Me, the girls, and our super wonderful neighbors made it out to my parent's house to check out the horses. The girls hadn't seen the horses in a while, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. As soon as we got out of the car, there were squeals of delight from both Kristin and Camryn. Nana attempted to catch the minis, so the girls thought they would help out.

Tuesday - Me and the girls made it to our first "real" playdate and on St. Patrick's Day, no less. We got all decked out in green and made our way far, far away - a.k.a. across the street. I decided to have the girls bring their baby strollers, complete with babies, because there were several playdate members at the "pushing everything" stage. We ended up having the perfect number of strollers and the girls even sat super still for the group photo.

Wednesday - We found a new park not far from our house that the girls absolutly adore! The whole park is shaped like a castle and there is even a miniature part set aside just for kids under 5. It has wonderful fake wood - translation: no splinters! - and cooshy ground to prevent bruised knees. We didn't realize how much the girls love to run around, climb stairs, and slide. They each went down the slide at least 50 times.

Thursday - The ever favorite...Doctor's appointment. It was time for their 18-month check-up. They only had to get one shot, but that didn't stop them from screaming bloody murder almost the entire appointment. Their stats are as follows: (I find it completely strange that they are still one pound apart, just like they have been since birth)

Camryn weighs 21 lbs 15 ozs and is 32 1/4 inches tall, 12 teeth

Kristin weighs 23 lbs 1 oz and is 32 1/2 inches tall, 12 teeth (2 more about to come in)

Friday - We met up with Chad, Ruth, and Callie and had a great day at the zoo. I adore the zoo, and it seems like the girls do too! We busted out a brand new stoller for the occasion, a side-by-side, and they really seemed to enjoy having the same view (and not getting kicked in the back was a nice perk too). They really loved the meercats and the kangaroos.

A picture of the whole family! (Thanks Ruth!)

Whew! I made it through my first post. It took a little while, but I hope you all liked it!
