Dance Recital Spring 2013

The girls have been taking dance lessons for a while now - ballet and tap.  These are behind the scene pictures from just before they went on stage for their ballet routine.  My tiny dancers.

NICU reunion

Our girls spent their first 26 days in the NICU.  At the time, it felt like those days would never end, but the fantastic nurses taught us so many great techniques and tricks to take care of our tiny babies.  Each year the hospital hosts a NICU reunion so that they can see all the great success stories and growing kiddos.  It is so nice to see the nurses and doctors that took such great care of our girls in their first days.  This year's theme was pirates and princesses.  The girls dressed up as Belle, high heels and all.

Bluebonnets 2013

Bluebonnets are a Texas tradition.  This year we decided to check out a state park to see if we could get lucky and find some great spots.  Luckily there were tons of flowers around, bluebonnets included, but by far the best part according to the girls were the ladybugs.  They (the ladybugs) were everywhere.  Who knew that they loved bluebonnets so much??  At one point we were walking through the flowers (being very careful not to step on any bluebonnets) and I noticed that Camryn had her hands closed as though she were holding something.  I asked her what she had and she turned slowly and gave me a little smirk, then opened her hand - out crawled 6 ladybugs!  She was holding onto them for later.  Sweet bug loving girls.

Dallas Zoo

I haven't been to the Dallas Zoo in a bazillion years (only a slight exaggeration).  My only real memory of the zoo is when one of the gorillas escaped from his enclosure (just looked it up...it was in 2004...where does time go???) and injured a few people.  Well, it was time to find some new places to take the girls so we headed out.  The drive wasn't bad and the girls LOVE the giant giraffe statue at the entrance. 
We rode the carousel 6 times...I never thought I got motion sick, but after riding backwards (to get pictures of course!) on a fairly fast carousel, I'm having second thoughts.
