The Stockyards

On a routine shopping trip to the Stockyards (to find some saloon worthy goodies for my brother) and we happened to make it just in time to see the "stampede" down Exchange Street. It is supposed to be a recreation of the old days when they actually drove cattle through the same area to be loaded on the trains and shipped off to meatpacking plants. Regardless of the original intent, the girls loved watching the longhorn cattle mosey down the street.

We were also there just in time to see the train pull up. We were literally 4 feet from the side of the train as it came to a stop. The girls weren't totally sure about it, but after a little reassurance and lots of waving from all the people on the train, they were a little more excited.

As much as it doesn't look like they had fun on the merry-go-round, they asked for "more, more, more" as soon as the music ended.
