A Day at Nana's

Growing up around horses was such a wonderful experience and I'm so excited that we have been able to expose our girls to horses at such a young age. They are slowly overcoming their initial fears (which I can't blame them for being scared of an animal that is 1500 lbs and has nostrils as big as their palms) and have really started to enjoy being around the horses. Mostly they like brushing and petting the miniature horses, but they love to feed (and now ride) the big horses too. We were able to share the day with our friends, Ralph, Betzy and their daughter Emma. It was Emma's first time to be around the horses, but by the end of the day she was already asking to come back again. (Kristin is in purple and Camryn is in pink.)

First time on a big horse - Mulligan was a perfect angel

Ready to get down

Trying Pika out...she is more Cam's size

Going for a ride with Mommy!

Cam did so good! She didn't sign "all done" the whole time.

Death grip on the saddle horn, but being such a trooper!

Me and Kristin riding around the yard - she was scared at first, but calmed right down while we walked around the yard several times

Walking Whinney

Feeding carrots to all the tiny horses

Feeding Mulligan a carrot since he was such a good boy!

Feeding Whinney a carrot...those nibbling lips are getting a little too close for Kristin's comfort
