Dinner Conversation

Here is the gist of my conversation with the girls over dinner tonight:

Me: Kristin, you are a silly bird.

Kristin: Nooooo mommy, I no have wings!  I no silly bird.

Me: Oh, are you a silly frog?

Kristin:  Nooooo, I no hop!

Me:  Are you a silly puppy?

Kristin: Nooooo, I no have 4 feet, I have 2 feet!  Puppies have 4 legs.

Me: Camryn, are you a silly turtle?

Camryn: Noooooo, I have 5 toes, turtles only have 4 toes!

Me: What??  Turtles only have 4 toes??  Where did you learn that?  Kristin, did you know turtles only have 4 toes?

Kristin: No, mommy.  Camryn knows that.  Me not know that.

Such little sponges!  Picking up all kinds of random stuff.  I just googled "How many toes does a turtle have?" and it says that some have 3 and some have 4 toes.  How does my 3 year old know more than me?

Snow Day #4

After breaking some kind of record somewhere for being out of school for 4 days straight due to icy road conditions, Friday brought some nice snow (about 4-5 inches) and slightly warmer temperatures.  These two things combined meant it was time to try playing outside again.

So excited to go outside!! (Kristin left, Camryn right)

Camryn has her snow disk too

Sooooo bright!

Kristin - still so bright!

Snow diskin' in the street (Kristin left, Camryn right)

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Such fun! (Camryn in back, Kristin in front)

Now for some snow building (Cam)

Kristin carrying chunks of snow

They started piling snow on the disks

Then it started to form into a snow creature

Gathering more snow

Daddy brought out decorating supplies - carrots and raisins

The girls decided that the creature needed hair, so they outfitted him with holly branch hair

Off and running

Cleaning off the mustang

We kept hearing a "tap, tap, tap, tap" - a woodpecker up in a tree

Frozen!  Trying to defrost

Snow Day #1

When the snow and ice first hit North Texas, it looked so inviting...until you walked outside.  Me and the girls got all bundled up because they were dying to make another snow cat (Snow Cat #1).  We made it about 10 steps outside the front door before the wind picked up and the girls said, "Sooooo cold mom!".  I was able to get a few pictures and that was it.

We are in the process of repainting several rooms so there are a few doorknobs missing...I think we have a tiny spy sneaking around...

Visiting Aunt K

My sister recently started working at a Clydesdale farm, so we took the girls down to visit their Aunt K and to see the giant horses.
