Train Ride

We managed to pick the most freezing day in May to go ride the train, but this didn't bother the girls one little bit.  It looked like a beautiful day, but man was it windy and cold.  We saw lots of turtles in the creek, a few squirrels in the park, ate popcorn at the halfway stop and helped sing Happy Birthday to another train passenger.

Trains!

Or as the girls call them - choo, choos! We have gone to see the wonderful train exhibit at the Parks Mall for the past two years, and I think we will really try to continue with the tradition because the girls love it! They are mesmerized by all the movement as well as the intricately set-up scenes. There are at least a million trains all going at one time - big ones, small ones. The trains are only setup during Christmas time and I'm really curious as to how they store all these trains and the background sets when they aren't in use. The Statue of Liberty is at least 10 feet tall by itself, plus all the buildings...where does it all go??

Riding the Train

Having kids has opened my eyes to so many new things. Currently I am discovering so many more things to do these days. Looking at things with a new perspective is a great thing. The Forest Park Train is one such "new" thing. It has actually been around for quite a while, but it is new to us. I was pretty much expecting a meltdown or two (from the whistle or the jostling of the cars or anything really), but there was not one single tantrum! This outing was a winner in my book.
